Yvonne Nguyen – A rooted, committed, and determined voice for Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce
Born and raised in Côte-des-Neiges, Yvonne Nguyen knows her neighborhood inside and out : its schools, community organizations, and streets. But most importantly, she knows the everyday realities of families, seniors, and newcomers who make up the heart of the borough.
With a law degree from the Université de Montréal and now practicing as an immigration lawyer, Yvonne defends the rights of immigrant families, workers, and vulnerable communities. She gained experience at the Senate of Canada and the Ministry of Immigration, Francization and Integration (MIFI), developing a deep understanding of public policy and its real impact on residents.
As Vice-President of the Vietnamese Community in Canada – Montreal Region since 2015, Yvonne has led major local initiatives like food distribution during the pandemic, community fundraising, intercultural events promoting inclusion, and direct support for families and seniors.
Recipient of the Senate of Canada’s 150th Anniversary Commemorative Medal for her leadership, Yvonne is now committed to bringing a strong, accessible, and solutions-focused voice to City Hall.
Together with Stephanie Valenzuela and Ensemble Montréal Team Soraya, she is committed to:
- Improving access to housing and services for families and seniors
- Strengthening safety and quality of life in our streets and parks
- Supporting cultural communities and newcomers for a more inclusive and equitable borough
