Biography
A proud Verdun resident and committed citizen, André Julien has dedicated over 40 years of his energy to public and community life in the borough. A regular presence at Verdun borough council meetings, he has a deep understanding of municipal issues, recurring files, and the realities faced by residents. His in-depth knowledge of local decision-making processes makes him both a credible and pragmatic candidate.
Professionally, André built his career in the federal public service, notably at Employment and Immigration Canada and Human Resources Development Canada. For more than three decades, he held roles in collections and advisory services while also representing his colleagues as a delegate, local section president, and deputy national vice-president of the Employment and Immigration Union of Canada. Known for his rigor and his ability to defend collective interests, he has taken part in numerous national and regional union congresses and committees.
Beyond his career, André has always been actively involved in Verdun community life. As a board member of Club XM-Condor since 1974, treasurer of Verdun Minor Baseball, and secretary-treasurer of the White Sox Jr. AA, he has continuously contributed to the borough’s sports and community vitality. A passionate baseball, hockey, and bowling enthusiast, he firmly believes in the role of sports and recreation in fostering community spirit and collective well-being.
