Biography
Caroline Braun is running for mayor of Outremont with Ensemble Montréal – Équipe Soraya, bringing with her a track record rooted in action, listening, and the pursuit of concrete solutions.
A part-time lawyer in a private practice, Me Caroline Braun previously worked at the Centre communautaire juridique de Montréal for 12 years, serving as the voice of vulnerable populations for nearly 16 years. A graduate of the Quebec Bar (Montreal) and certified by the l’École des dirigeantes et dirigeants de HEC Montréal, she has consistently handled complex situations with clarity and resolve.
Driven by her legal background and commitment to civic engagement, Caroline Braun has also volunteered with various organizations advocating for access to justice. She has served on the board of Clinique Droits Devant, was a partner lawyer for the Mobile Legal Clinic, participated in free legal clinics held in the Montreal metro with Juripop, and mentored students through the Jeunes explorateurs and Maître d’un jour programs. She was also active in legal education, serving as an Maitre de stage for the Bar before being elected. Caroline is a recipient of the Robert Sacchitelle Award, a distinction granted by the Association of Defence Counsel of Montreal (AADM).
Over the years, Caroline has held various positions in daycare committees, including vice-president of the board of the Querbes CPE. A former member of the 55e Guynemer Scouts, she has also volunteered with SARPAD (Services d’Accompagnement et de Répit aux Personnes Âgées à Domicile) since 2006, a commitment recognized with a medal from the federal deputee during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, Caroline leads a diverse, dynamic, and competent team united by a common vision: “A beautiful, well-managed, democratic, and safe Outremont for all.” Deeply rooted in her community, she has organized citizen marches to protect the local dog park and to oppose unpopular projects proposed by the PM administration. She also founded a citizen-led Facebook page to make council meetings more accessible and keep residents informed about borough issues.
For Caroline Braun, pedestrian safety, support for families and seniors, protection of parks, heritage and architecture, as well as the fight against climate change with positive, bike-friendly solutions, are at the heart of a forward-looking vision for an Outremont that is both modern and true to its identity. Caroline was born in Outremont, where she is currently raising her two children.
