Biography
Chahi (Sharkie) Tarakjian arrived in Quebec in 1968 with his family, leaving Syria to build a new life. Of Armenian origin, he grew up in the West Island, where he quickly developed a deep attachment to the local community.
Passionate about automobiles, Sharkie began his career as a mechanic before shifting to the business world to offer a more stable life for his family. In 2000, he founded Promo Link, a marketing and advertising company that, for over two decades, has supported hundreds of local businesses in their growth, visibility, and success.
Alongside his professional career, Sharkie has always been dedicated to his community. For 19 years, he coached soccer teams in Pierrefonds, and for 16 years, he was a basketball coach with the West Island Lakers. Since 2007, he has volunteered at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, particularly focusing on organizing fundraising events.
A resident of Pierrefonds-Roxboro since 1986, where he established his business in 2004, Sharkie was elected Borough Councillor in 2021. This role enables him to engage with citizens, better understand their needs, and actively contribute to enhancing the quality of life in the district.
With over 20 years of experience in promotion, communication, and community engagement, Sharkie Tarakjian continues to work towards strengthening the sense of belonging, encouraging citizen participation, and preserving the spirit of mutual support that defines the Pierrefonds-Roxboro community.
