Biography
Christine Black fell in love with Montréal-Nord more than twenty years ago, choosing to make it her home and raise her family there. Before entering politics, she served for over a decade as Director of the L’Escale Youth Center in Montréal. Her expertise in community intervention and administration led her to sit on numerous boards of directors and roundtables.
Her dedication to the community motivated her to enter politics to strengthen safety, promote social inclusion, revitalize local infrastructure, and above all, restore pride and vitality to Montréal-Nord.
Since becoming mayor in 2016, she has devoted her energy to creating safe, healthy, and vibrant living environments.
Christine’s community leadership has been widely recognized. She was awarded the 2016 ARISTA Young Executive of Quebec Award by the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Montréal and received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for her outstanding contribution to the community.
Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in science from the Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in public administration (M.A.P.) from the École nationale d’administration publique (ENAP). She is a member of the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec (Adm.A.) and a Certified Corporate Director (A.S.C.).
