Gabriel Retta

Candidate - City Councillor
SAINT-LéONARD OUEST

Biography

Deeply rooted in his community and with nearly 25 years of dedication to serving citizens, Gabriel Retta is running with emotion and a strong sense of duty as a candidate for City Councillor in the district of Saint-Léonard-Ouest.

Passionate about public service from the very beginning, he embarks on this campaign with enthusiasm, hoping to earn the privilege of representing residents and defending the interests of the community.

Gabriel had the great honor of working for a decade in the House of Commons with the Hon. Marlene Jennings, serving as Director of her constituency office. He then continued his public service alongside Québec’s Minister Responsible for Seniors, Marguerite Blais, where he worked to support some of society’s most vulnerable citizens.

Later, he had the privilege of serving for four years alongside former Mayor of Montréal, Denis Coderre. Responsible for many key files, particularly in public safety, he gained valuable experience and a deep understanding of City Hall operations, as well as best practices to achieve concrete results for citizens.

For the past eight years, Gabriel has served as Chief of Staff for the Official Opposition at Montréal City Hall, Ensemble Montréal. Together with his team, he has supported elected officials — including those in Saint-Léonard — on major files such as citizen services, infrastructure, safety, sports facilities, and much more.

Proud of his roots and of the diversity that enriches his borough, Gabriel speaks five languages, including Italian, his mother tongue. This cultural wealth allows him to communicate easily with residents of all backgrounds and to better understand their realities.
