Biography
Born and raised in Saint-Léonard, Gemma Marchione has dedicated over two decades to building strong connections within Montreal’s cultural, business, and community sectors. Currently serving as Director General of the Canadian-Italian Business and Professional Association (CIBPA Montreal) and its Foundation, she leads strategic planning, daily operations, event organization, sponsorship development, and member engagement for one of the city’s most active professional networks.
Deeply rooted in the local community, Gemma has held key administrative and leadership roles at organizations such as the Centre communautaire de la Petite-Italie (Casa d’Italia), the Association de Cheerleading de Saint-Léonard, and the Leonardo da Vinci Center. Her work has helped strengthen institutions that serve as cultural and recreational pillars for residents of Saint-Léonard and beyond.
With a strong background in youth leadership and sports, Gemma also coached competitive cheerleading teams at both school and community levels for over 15 years, mentoring hundreds of young athletes. Her passion for empowering youth and fostering community pride continues to shape her work today.
Gemma holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources Management from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business and a DEC in Business Administration (Finance) from Dawson College. Whether she is organizing large-scale events or launching grassroots initiatives, she brings a genuine commitment to her community and a deep understanding of the values that define Montreal’s east end.
