Biography
Gerlando Guarraggi is a passionate advocate for civic engagement and community development. He is running to represent Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles with Ensemble Montréal under the leadership of Soraya Martinez Ferrada.
Deeply rooted in the community, Gerlando began his journey of public service through the Conseil Jeunesse, where he focused on youth delinquency prevention and creating safe spaces for young people. He led impactful initiatives, including inter-council collaborations, backpack distribution programs for underprivileged families, and podcasts with local youth to discuss the issues that matter most to them. For his contributions to youth development and civic participation, Gerlando was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal, a distinction that highlights his commitment to building stronger communities.
At Concordia University, Gerlando served as Vice-President of External Affairs for the Canadian Political Society, where he worked to build bridges between students and decision-makers at all levels of government. He organized panels and events designed to help young people explore politics and make their voices heard.
His candidacy is driven by a simple vision: a borough where every citizen feels represented, where youth have the tools to succeed, and where collaboration between residents and City Hall leads to real solutions.
