Biography

Born and raised in Montréal-Nord, Jean-Marc Poirier has always been deeply involved in the economic and community life of the borough. An entrepreneur at heart, he managed businesses for nearly 40 years.

With years of experience as a board member of the CDEC and CLD Montréal-Nord, and as Chair of the Board of the Montréal-Nord Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jean-Marc has developed extensive expertise in governance and economic development.

He also served on the board of the social economy organization Les Fourchettes de l’espoir from 2015 to 2017, including one year as chair. This organization supports and accompanies some of the most vulnerable members of society, making a significant difference in Montréal-Nord.

A lifelong resident, Jean-Marc is driven by the desire to give back to the borough that shaped him. His decision to enter politics stems from a strong commitment to helping citizens and businesses and contributing to the revitalization and progress of Montréal-Nord.

  • Continue the redevelopment and improvement of parks.
  • Create new murals, especially on commercial streets, to develop a street art tourist route.
  • Increase the number of community gardens.
  • Re-energize the industrial sector.
  • Promote local purchasing.
  • Continue securing streets, especially in areas with schools, and increase budgets for pothole repair.
  • Improve the maintenance of green spaces.
  • Build a new sports center.
