Biography
Josué Corvil has been deeply rooted in his community long before becoming City Councillor. A passionate advocate for literacy and education, he has led reading workshops for youth for over a decade, firmly believing that access to culture and knowledge is a key to a brighter future.
Josué holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the Université de Montréal and has worked in several roles in library management and archival services, including positions with the City of Sherbrooke, the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHU de Sherbrooke, the Commission scolaire des Grandes-Seigneuries, and the City of Terrebonne.
His passion for learning, culture, and public service naturally led him into politics. Known for his curiosity and his commitment to listening to residents, Josué is dedicated to making Montréal a more inclusive, culturally vibrant, and citizen-focused city.
In 2016, his long-standing community involvement earned him the Award for Supporting Disadvantaged Children from the Fondation Voix Angélique (FOVA). Today, as Official Opposition Critic for Libraries and Intercultural Relations and member of the Commission on Social Development and Montreal Diversity, he continues to work toward a more open, equitable, and compassionate Montréal.
