A resident of Outremont for the past four years, Mercedez Plante brings together a solid academic background, diverse professional experience, and a deep-rooted commitment to her community.
Holder of a Master’s degree in Management Sciences from HEC Montréal, where she conducted research on well-being and change management in the workplace, Mercedez also studied psychoeducation and worked as an addiction counselor. These experiences gave her a profound understanding of the human, social, and economic realities shaping people’s lives.
Before moving into organizational development, she worked in the local restaurant industry, notably at Damas in Outremont, where she built strong ties with residents and local businesses. She knows the neighborhood from the inside — its families, its youth, and its everyday challenges.
Today, alongside Caroline Braun and Ensemble Montréal – Team Soraya, Mercedez Plante is committed to:
- Improving communication between the borough and its residents
- Strengthening safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and families
- Supporting local initiatives and encouraging active lifestyles for youth
- Protecting the beauty of parks and promoting culture in all its forms
Known for her accessibility, her listening skills, and her solution-oriented approach, Mercedez wants to be a representative close to the people, building bridges between residents, community organizations, and institutions to create a safe, inclusive, and vibrant Outremont for all.
