Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie

Ntwari Songa

Candidate - City Councillor
MARIE-VICTORIN

Biography

Ntwari Songa grew up and lived in Rosemont, which makes it a borough he holds especially close to his heart. Passionate about urban planning issues, he has been working in the municipal field for several years, within various cities and community organizations. Holding a bachelor’s degree in urban planning, he has solid experience in planning regulations and policies. He wishes to represent you as a city councillor because he believes our city is at a turning point. His commitment is to the sustainable development of our communities based on concrete actions; housing construction and the safety of our transportation arteries are issues that matter deeply to him. He advocates for an ecological transition of our neighborhoods that is both ambitious and grounded in our real needs; accelerating the development of our critical infrastructure must go hand-in-hand with our ecological obligations. His professional experience has taught him that we can build more efficient cities by embracing emerging technologies that reconcile both of these challenges. At the heart of his commitment lies the desire to continue creating healthier living environments.

Specifically, for his district, he is committed to working on innovative solutions to the housing crisis by reducing administrative delays in granting building permits and supporting proven real estate development projects; enhancing and securing the connectivity of our public transit routes in anticipation of the blue line extension (particularly along Viau, Assomption, and Lacordaire); and finally, offering an up-to-date contingency and mitigation plan to address flooding issues in low-lying areas.

Throughout this campaign, he looks forward to meeting with you to hear your concerns and aspirations. He believes that with innovative ideas, collaborative leadership, and a deep belief in the potential of our communities, we can build prosperous boroughs and a thriving metropolis for all.
