Biography
Originally from Haiti, Philippe Thermidor arrived in Montréal-Nord at the age of 17. He quickly became involved in his community, notably at the Saint-Michel Youth Forum (FJSM). There, he co-hosts the podcast Héritage et partage and takes part in concrete actions such as distributing meals to people in precarious situations. These experiences shaped the values that drive him: living together, mutual aid, solidarity, and inclusion.
Elected borough councillor in 2021, Philippe chose municipal politics to champion key issues: housing, education, inclusion, and quality of life for all. For him, diversity and youth are not challenges but strengths that enrich Montréal-Nord and the entire metropolis.
A graduate in social sciences from Collège de Maisonneuve, he also holds a bachelor’s degree in French literature and a certificate in law from the Université de Montréal. This dual background in social and legal studies nourishes his vision: to act with rigor and proximity in order to build a fairer city.
His commitment has been recognized on several occasions: a scholarship for academic perseverance, a youth leadership award for his political involvement, and roles as spokesperson for International Youth Day and the Youth in Action Festival.
Philippe Thermidor is a strong voice for Montréal-Nord: close to residents, passionate about social justice, and determined to build an inclusive city where everyone can thrive.
