Biography
Born and raised in L’Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève and the son of a local farmer, Richard Bélanger still lives on the family land where he grew up—a place that shaped his values of hard work, community spirit, and dedication to public service. With over 20 years of experience in municipal politics—including 8 years as Mayor and 18 years as City Councillor—he has consistently placed harmonious development and high-quality services for residents at the center of his priorities.
An entrepreneur at heart, Richard operated a printing business in downtown Montréal for 16 years, from 1980 to 1996. This entrepreneurial background provided him with solid expertise in management and project development, skills he now uses to serve the residents of the borough.
Known for his attentive leadership and deep knowledge of the territory, Richard Bélanger is committed to continuing his work to deliver modern, efficient services that meet the needs of citizens while preserving the unique character and quality of life that make L’Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève such a special place.
