A lifelong resident of the Plateau, from grandfather to grandson, and a father of three, Sébastien Joannette has a deep connection to neighborhood life and to the values of community closeness that make this area so vibrant.
His career reflects this commitment. Having worked in diverse fields—from the corporate sector to homelessness services to student housing—Sébastien chose to dedicate his experience to issues that directly affect residents. He has managed housing cooperatives, collaborated with women’s shelters, and participated in student housing operations. These experiences have given him a strong understanding of the daily challenges residents face, both on the ground and from a management perspective.
His priorities are clear: improving quality of life through accessible and well-integrated housing, ensuring clean, safe, and peaceful streets and alleys, and supporting local organizations and frontline workers who are often best positioned to understand and address community needs.
