Islamophobia, in all its forms, harms not only those who are directly affected but also the social fabric of our entire city. It has no place in our metropolis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our role cannot be symbolic, it must be concrete, courageous, and unifying. Montr\u00e9al is a city of living-together, peace, and freedom. A city where everyone can live according to their beliefs, safely and with respect for others. This promise must be upheld and renewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensemble Montr\u00e9al therefore commits to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strengthening the fight against hate crimes<\/strong> by allocating more resources to police and community services, and ensuring better support for victims in partnership with Muslim organizations;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Creating permanent dialogue spaces<\/strong> between the City and religious and cultural communities to jointly develop concrete initiatives that strengthen social cohesion;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Working hand in hand with Muslim leaders<\/strong> to design education and awareness programs that promote mutual understanding and prevent prejudice;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Advocating on behalf of Montr\u00e9al<\/strong> to other levels of government so that our metropolis remains a model of inclusion and respect;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fostering a culture of dialogue, civic education, and mutual respect<\/strong> across all areas of municipal life.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Montr\u00e9al, October 23, 2025 \u2013 Ensemble Montr\u00e9al is announcing new measures to combat Islamophobia.
