Biographie

With 34 years of public service, Borough Mayor Jim Beis is known as a leader on the ground and close to the people, always present at community events, festivals, and local gatherings. Whether riding his bike through the countryside or speaking directly with residents, Jim has built a reputation as a dedicated and approachable leader who listens and acts.
First elected as Borough Mayor of Pierrefonds-Roxboro in 2013, Jim has guided the borough through challenging times, including major flooding events, with solid leadership and calm determination. His ability to work with all levels of government and mobilize resources quickly has earned him the trust of residents across the borough.

Before becoming mayor, Jim served as City Councillor for the Bois-de-Liesse district (2009-2013) and held senior municipal management roles, including Head of Culture, Sports, Recreation, and Social Development for Dollard-des-Ormeaux (2001-2014) and Director of Parks and Recreation for Roxboro (1990-2001).
Jim’s connection to Pierrefonds-Roxboro runs deep. He co-founded and led several major community initiatives, including:
The Roxboro 100th Anniversary Committee (2012)
The Roxboro 60+ Club (2003)
The West Island Blues Festival (2002)
He has been actively involved in local schools, youth sports, community services, and cultural organizations, always keeping residents at the heart of decision-making.
Jim Beis remains committed to delivering efficient municipal services, revitalizing public spaces, supporting families and seniors, and building a safer, more inclusive, and more vibrant Pierrefonds-Roxboro. With his decades of experience and hands-on leadership style, Jim is ready to continue serving the borough he calls home.

PIERREFONDS-ROXBORO

  1. Ouvrir le centre aquatique et déployer sa programmation.
  2. Revitaliser le parc A-Ma-Baie et le boulevard Saint-Charles.
  3. Désenclaver l’Ouest de l’arrondissement par la création d’un boulevard urbain facilitant l’accès au REM.
  4. Investir dans l’agriculture urbaine et les jardins communautaires.
  5. Utiliser le droit de préemption pour développer des logements hors marché.
  6. Mettre en place des mesures contre les pluies diluviennes pour contrer les impacts des zones inondables.
  7. Sécuriser les abords des écoles et les rues locales.
  8. Élaborer une politique locale pour les sports, les loisirs, la culture et le développement social avec le Conseil jeunesse.
