Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve

The borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve was constituted in parishes that were annexed to Montreal until 1918. The name of the borough recalls Honoré Mercier, an influential 19th century politician, the Indian village of Hochelaga, and the founder of Montreal, Paul de Chomedey, Sieur de Maisonneuve.
