Soraya Martinez Ferrada Ready to Lead Change on November 2

Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Leader of Ensemble Montréal and candidate for Mayor of Montreal, delivered her campaign wrap-up Friday morning in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. She highlighted a positive and people-focused campaign that revealed a real desire for change among Montrealers.

Since the start of the campaign, citizens have voiced a clear message: they have not been heard and want to be more involved in shaping their city’s decisions. Too often, the Plante–Rabouin administration has imposed measures without meaningful consultation with residents, business owners, and the community and economic sectors.

From the moment she became leader of Ensemble Montréal, Mrs. Martinez Ferrada made her first commitment to keeping the Camilien-Houde roadway and Mount Royal open to all, a true symbol of a city that belongs to its citizens.

She has also built a strong, diverse, and experienced team ready to govern Montreal according to citizens’ priorities, while ensuring sound financial management in every borough. From central neighborhoods to the city’s outskirts, residents have welcomed a credible alternative to represent them.

This is exactly what Soraya Martinez Ferrada and Ensemble Montréal’s six priority initiatives reflect. Developed through conversations and feedback from the field, these priorities aim to address citizens’ most pressing needs:

  • Tackling the housing crisis
  • Improving traffic flow and safety
  • Enhancing cleanliness
  • Strengthening public safety
  • Reducing homelessness
  • Managing the city with discipline and efficiency

Surrounded by her team, the Ensemble Montréal leader reaffirmed her commitment to implementing 10 concrete actions within the first 100 days of her mandate. These actions will launch a necessary and urgent change of direction across these six priorities.

This change is what Soraya Martinez Ferrada stands for. To make it happen, Montrealers must head to the polls this Sunday, November 2.

Quotes:

“Since I began this campaign, I’ve had the opportunity to meet Montrealers in every neighborhood, and what I’ve heard is unanimous: Montrealers want change at City Hall. They want to feel heard and consulted. After eight years of being dictated to, they’re ready to vote for change on November 2. Montreal can no longer afford mistakes, we must act now to restore the city’s vitality and appeal.”
— Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Candidate for Mayor of Montreal and Leader of Ensemble Montréal

“We took the time to listen to Montrealers. Now it’s time to act. Together, we want to restore ambition to Montreal and build a city worthy of its citizens. Montreal deserves a government that listens, acts, and delivers real results.”
— Stéphanie Valenzuela, Candidate for Mayor of Côte-des-Neiges– Notre-Dame-de-Grâce

“Over the past eight years, I’ve seen the City’s budget soar and its workforce grow dramatically. I’ve seen the cost of major projects explode — some altered mid-course for ideological reasons, like the Bellechasse bus garage. With Ensemble Montréal, we’ll manage the City with rigor and agility.”
— Aref Salem, Candidate for City Councillor, Norman-McLaren District
